MaKayla Hart

Hello!

I've been passionate about photography for as long as I can remember. My family spent a lot of time roadtripping throughout the West, and in South Dakota I used up an entire disposable camera taking pictures of prairie dogs. When I was in sixth grade, my mother gifted me my first digital camera: a tiny, purple point-and-shoot camera. I quickly became obsessed with it, and have nurtured a love for cameras and photography ever since.

I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with degrees in photojournalism and sociology. I am passionate about uplifting stories that may otherwise be forgotten. My work has been published in the Columbia Missourian, where I worked as a staff photographer and photo editor, and Vox Magazine.
